More people are using mobile phones and tablets these days so is software still a good niche for the affiliate marketer?
The answer is a resounding YES! There are still some great products to market in the software niche, and not so many IM people know about them.
Software can be quite a lucrative product to market online. Commission earnings can be quite high. As more software has moved to a SAAS (Software As A Service) model then there is the chance to earn monthly recurring commissions.
I know a lot about the software niche. I started a shareware business back in 2002, and I still sell a few copies of my software all these years later. I sell the products through Avangate, which is one of the major affiliate networks in this niche.
My tips for aspiring affiliates? Find a small niche with not too much competition. When I built my product I only had 2 competitors, and there weren't any people blogging about my software's niche at all. Of course there's generally more competition in every niche these days. For the record none of my affiliates put in that much effort, so their earnings were much lower than they could have been otherwise.
