More people are using mobile phones and tablets these days so is software still a good niche for the affiliate marketer?
The answer is a resounding YES! There are still some great products to market in the software niche, and not so many IM people know about them.
Software can be quite a lucrative product to market online. Commission earnings can be quite high. As more software has moved to a SAAS (Software As A Service) model then there is the chance to earn monthly recurring commissions.
I know a lot about the software niche. I started a shareware business back in 2002, and I still sell a few copies of my software all these years later. I sell the products through Avangate, which is one of the major affiliate networks in this niche.
My tips for aspiring affiliates? Find a small niche with not too much competition. When I built my product I only had 2 competitors, and there weren't any people blogging about my software's niche at all. Of course there's generally more competition in every niche these days. But you can still find lucrative micro-niches in things like B2B software.
Stay away from spammy niches like registry fixers, virus checkers and Windows tuneup tools.
It helps if you know a particular niche very well. Then you can do in depth reviews and videos to showcase the product. Really go to town on your site and you will be richly rewarded. For the record none of my affiliates put in that much effort, so their earnings were much lower than they could have been otherwise.
Remember when promoting software to sell on BENEFITS and not features.
The following software offers are showcased here:
Avangate is a reliable software affiliate network with many lucrative but little known products.
The company has a good international presence and is a good option if you have a lot of international traffic. The order forms are available in a wide range of different languages and customers can opt to pay in a wide range of currencies.
I've personally used them for over 5 years. I use them to handle the payment processing for my software development tools business that I started way back in 2002.
My top tip is to look beyond the video producers and anti-virus software and find deep niche products with high ticket values. B2B niches can be especially lucrative since comparatively few IM people write about these niches.
This is a reliable affiliate network with a wide range of software products you can promote. I've been a member since 2014 and I regularly get wire transfer payments from them.

JVZoo has grown to be one of the best
affiliate networks for make money online type products.
As well as marketing other people's products, you can also offer your own products for sale via the site. Adding products is really straightforward so you'll be up and running in no time at all.
Payment options include PayPal, Authorize.Net, Stripe and manual mailing of Checks.
If you're a larger scale marketer then there are many opportunities here. This includes the ability to set up JV's (Joint Ventures) with other marketers. If you have a good product to offer or you're skilled at marketing then you can potentially form your own dream team through JVZoo.
There's also the chance to earn regular recurring revenue from subscription model products. Many of the better products on there also have OTOs, upsells and downsells so you can potentially make more money than the initial price of the product you're promoting.
Any problems? I've only recently started using JVZoo again so I'm sure I'll encounter some issues. It is kind of annoying that you have to get manually approved by many vendors before you promote their offers though. I believe it does become easier once you've made around 50 affiliate sales. Then you might also gain access to review copies of new products you want to promote.
If you're in the make money online/blogging niche then you definitely need to know about JVZoo. It's also worth a look if you're in other niches like travel.
